Network Systems Designer / CAD Operator IV

Position Summary
Action Technology Services is seeking a Network Systems Designer / CAD Operator IV to support a Department of Defense customer. The contract provides C4I/IT electronic systems equipment, infrastructure, engineering, design, installation, supply, and warehouse support to Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific (NIWC Pacific) during the design, installation, configuration, and transition to operations of IT infrastructure for multiple facilities within the NC3 Alert Campus. Services include design, installation, termination, test, and documentation of network and desktop devices, peripherals, IT cabling, racks, and power distribution units (PDUs), in accordance with government installation design plans (IDPs), the NIWC Pacific Shore Installation Process Handbook (SIPH), and project sponsor processes.
Duties
- -Support the NIWC Pacific embedded engineering team in developing integrated, cost-effective network system designs that meet USSTRATCOM requirements
- -Lead and assist in developing network-focused Top-Level Designs (TLDs); create, revise, and maintain AutoCAD drawings for network topology, cable pathways, rack elevations, and connectivity; participate in interim and final reviews
- -Design and document enterprise network architectures, including structured cabling, rack layouts, PDUs, fiber/copper plant, and C4I/IT system interconnects; develop 2D/3D models in AutoCAD (Revit or SolidWorks as needed) to produce IDPs that comply with the NIWC Pacific SIPH and government standards
- -Interpret engineering designs, network diagrams, blueprints, and schematics; resolve design conflicts, optimize cable pathways and equipment layouts, and keep drawings constructible and maintainable in multi-enclave environments
- -Work with network/IT engineers, architects, and project teams to refine designs and maintain as-built documentation
- -Document testing, installation, configuration, optimization, operations, and IA-compliance procedures for network systems
- -Recommend improvements to network design packages and supporting engineering documents
- -Identify document production milestones and track them within the overall project schedule
- -Lead network design documentation and AutoCAD drawing-package development, including redlines, as-builts, and final drawing sets
Requirements
- -6-8 years of network systems design experience (structured cabling, LAN/WAN, C4I/IT infrastructure), including substantial AutoCAD experience developing technical drawings
- -Strong AutoCAD skills; AutoCAD certification preferred
- -Experience supporting design, installation, configuration, integration, and testing of network and IT services in complex environments with multiple classification enclaves, integrated with C2 systems and associated information assurance processes
- -Bachelor's degree in IT, network engineering, engineering, or equivalent experience preferred
- -Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
